AFRICA/BRASS BY THE JOHN COLTRANE QUARTET

This CD contains all of the music recorded during the Africa/Brass sessions with the sole exception of a third take of “Africa” which was left out due to time limitations. The original LP Africa/Brass consisted of tracks 1-3 of this edition, while tracks 4-6 were issued on its sequel The Africa Brass Sessions, Vol.2. “The Damned Don’t Cry” and the initial version of “Africa” omitted here were first issued on a compilation LP titled Trane’s Modes.
